Ridding the World of Plastic Waste

The Center for Renewable Carbon in the UT Institute of Agriculture is an internationally recognized leader in the development of new and improved bioproducts and biomaterials, which are promising options for reducing plastic waste. Collaborations with Oak Ridge National Laboratory and private companies also are enabling research that may one day hold the answer to reducing plastic pollution. Can you imagine a water bottle made from grass? We can.

Everywhere you look, UT is offering solutions.
